How to read this report

What does a move associated with Indiana mean?

Each qualifying firm change is associated with the advisor’s reported location, using branch information first and other available registration or employment information when needed. A change of firm does not establish that the advisor relocated. These figures measure firm-to-firm registration activity, not migration between states.

Which registrations are included?

The competitive view counts the most recent qualifying firm change per registered investment adviser representative (IAR) within the published reporting window. Identified same-family conversions and rebrands are excluded. IAPD includes some supervisory, home-office and operations registrants; broker-only representatives are not represented.

Why do the chart and published firms cover different periods?

The activity chart shows only complete calendar months or quarters inside the published window. The headline total and published firms and routes cover the full trailing-12-month window. Only leading firms and routes are published; an absent firm or route does not mean zero activity. Missing monthly data is shown as unavailable.
